AoA-Based Localization System Using a Single IoT Gateway: <i>An Application for Smart Pedestrian Crossing</i>

چکیده

During the last decade, concept of smart cities is gaining popularity, and many all around globe are adopting it. Lately, Smart Pedestrian Crossing (SPC) idea has become an important part city concept. The main objective SPC to achieve a safe smooth traffic flow pedestrians vehicles in city. In this paper, we present simple yet efficient localization system which suitable for locating people over pedestrian crossing. By proposed system, crossing can be observed. Consequently, achieved. utilizes Internet Things (IoT) transceivers that carried by or embedded pedestrians' devices. These activated transmit signal every few seconds when passes periodic signals will received single Angle Arrival (AoA) estimation estimate direction pedestrian. Furthermore, environmental features crossings utilized 1D particle filter accurately pedestrian's location. been validated experimentally zone Antwerp experimental results reveal provide accurate, cost effective reliable solution specific problem without violating privacy.
